Batik Textiles – April 15
Sunday, April 15th
from 1 – 3 pm
Batik is the art of using wax resist and dye to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabrics. The art of batik has been practiced for centuries all over in the world, most notably in Asia and Africa. We’ll be exploring batik techniques using soy wax, natural dyes, and textile paints to create our own utterly unique textiles. Students will take home both small projects and a larger piece featuring their very own textile art, and are also welcome to bring their own small project to work on- reinvent that stained shirt into your new favorite shirt!
All materials are provided. Max enrollment is limited to 10 students per session, so register while there’s still room!
