Agate & Geode Jewelry Workshop
Saturday, June 8th
2 – 4 pm
Stop carting around a bag of crystals & learn how to bring elements of nature into your work and how to elevate found objects to create beautiful jewelry. Students will learn how to make gold & silver gilded agate rings & beginner wire wrapping so you can start sporting your bag o’ crystals as jewelry instead. You’ll get to choose an agate crystal and learn how to turn it into a beautiful ring with an exquisite dipped gold look! Then, later in the class we’ll break open geodes & learn how to wire wrap them into gorgeous pendants. YOU WILL WALK OUT WITH 3-4 AMAZING PIECES!
Students will learn:
-Tips for single pieces of wire & multiple pieces of wire
-How to break open a Geode without shooting your eye out
-Gilding vs Gold Dipping
-Where to obtain the best gems
-Gem History & Origin Nerd Talk
-Healing Properties of different stones

All Materials Included

About the Teacher
Katy Atchison is a local Laurel artist, and life-long maker. She taught this class last October here at Mischief and it was SUPER fun!
