Leatherworking 101: Wallets – Dec 29th
Join us for a quick and fun, veg-tanned leather wallet workshop. You’ll learn how to punch, stamp, protect and stitch your own custom wallet. You’ll also learn tips and tricks on how to choose the best leather for your project, set snaps with the industrial snap press, and saddle stitch all the pieces together. While working alongside others, we’ll share an afternoon of creativity, and you’ll take home a beautiful wallet made with your own hands!
All materials included.
We’ll also have wallet making kits available for purchase after class if you’d like to be all ready to keep on making wallets on your own!
This workshop is appropriate for Adults and t(w)eens ages 12 and older. We’ll be using hammers and chisels so keep that in mind- especially for students under 18 years old.
About our teacher: Lydia Rhyne of Brass Button Events
An avid DIYer and life-long learner, Lydia’s never been able to stick to just one craft. Garment sewing, leather working, upholstery and photography were just a few of the creative stops on her never ending quest to #makeallthethings. Luckily for Lydia, launching Brass Button Events has allowed her to put her 10+ years of event organization and maker experience to use while continuing to explore new art forms along the way. She’s always excited for new opportunities to encourage creativity and inspire others to make something unique and beautiful with their hands.
